Software Center Not Loading? Here’s How to Get It Working Again

[ad_1]

If you rely on the Software Center to install and manage software on your computer, you may be frustrated when it suddenly stops working. Software Center not loading can be an annoying problem, but there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to get it working again.

The first step is to check if the Software Center is actually installed on your computer. You can do this by opening the Control Panel and checking the list of installed programs. If it isn’t there, you’ll need to reinstall it.

If the Software Center is installed on your computer, the next step is to check if it’s running properly. You can do this by opening the Task Manager and looking for the Software Center process. If it’s not running, you can try to start it manually by double-clicking its icon in the Start menu.

If the Software Center is running, but still not loading, you can try restarting it by typing “services.msc” in the Run box and pressing Enter. Once the Services window opens, look for the “Software Center” service and right-click it. Select the “Restart” option and wait for it to finish.

If the Software Center still isn’t loading, you can try resetting it. To do this, open the Run box and type “appwiz.cpl”. This will open the Programs and Features window. Find the Software Center in the list of installed programs and click the “Uninstall/Change” button.

When the uninstall window opens, select the “Repair” option and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair process. Once it’s finished, the Software Center should be working again.

If the Software Center still isn’t loading, the next step is to check if the Windows Update service is running properly. You can do this by opening the Services window and looking for the “Windows Update” service. If it’s not running, you can try to start it manually by right-clicking it and selecting the “Start” option.

If the Windows Update service is running, but the Software Center still isn’t loading, you can try resetting the Windows Update components. To do this, open the Command Prompt with administrator privileges and type the following commands:

net stop wuauserv

net stop bits

net stop cryptsvc

ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

net start wuauserv

net start bits

net start cryptsvc

Once the commands have finished executing, restart your computer and check if the Software Center is working again.

If the Software Center still isn’t loading, you can try resetting the Windows Store cache. To do this, open the Run box and type “wsreset.exe”. This will reset the Windows Store cache and the Software Center should be working again.

If all else fails, you can try reinstalling the Software Center. To do this, open the Programs and Features window and find the Software Center in the list of installed programs. Select it and click the “Uninstall/Change” button. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstall process. Once it’s finished, you can reinstall the Software Center from the Microsoft Store.

These are some of the steps you can take to get the Software Center working again if it’s not loading. If you’re still having trouble, you can contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
